Tour Itinerary:
Day 1:
Your Hotel/apartment lobby pick-up by our guide and driver at 9:30 in the morning. Then drive 2 hours to Erdaoguan village which is situated next to the Great Wall. Walking around the old watch towers and explore this ancient village for a while and meet and talk with local villagers (with help from our guide).
Later on, start to hike along the small mountain paths to a famous Great Wall called “Zhuangdaokou” where you will take a short break and enjoy a picnic lunch on the Great Wall. After this simple lunch, continue to hike on the wild Great Wall and nearby mountains for 2- 2.5 hours and taking photos on the way.
By 3:00 in the afternoon, you will arrive at the camping site inside a park called “Little West Lake”. The unique feature at this park is not only the lake, but the Great Wall which dips into the water from one side and comes out from the other.
This camping site is sitting in the 400-year-old Ming Chestnut Garden and next to the Great Wall. In this Chestnut Garden, many old chestnut trees were planted by soldiers during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), hence the name.
Then, free time on your own. There are various activities on offer which include fishing, exploring the mountain valley, or a boat ride on the lake to see where the Great Wall dips into the water.
Camp dinner will be arranged for 6:30 pm on the lake beach. If you prefer, self-service barbecue is available too.
