Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Hiking from Gubeikou to Jinshanling
Your hotel/apartment lobby pick-up by our guide and driver at 8:00 in the morning. Then drive for 2 – 2.5 hour to Gubeikou Great Wall where is the starting point of this 3-4 hour hike. Upon arrival, short break first. You will then led by both our guide and local guide to hike from Gubeikou to Jinshanling Great Wall (3-5 hours). A picnic lunch on the Great Wall will be offered.
Arrive at Jinshanling section in the afternoon. You can rest in the village for a while, meanwhile, you can take this opportunity to take photos in and around this Great Wall village. Dinner will be arranged in a local farmer’s house.
Before sunset, start to hike eastward of Jinshanling to Simatai section for an hour or, then stop at one watch tower where you will stay overnight. Please note you will sleep how the soldiers did during the wartime in ancient dynasties, sleeping bags will be offered by us.
Meals included: Lunch + dinner
Watch tower: there are many small room-like buildings which stand along the Great Wall, they may have been used as storehouses and sleeping room for soldiers and for them to watch out for enemies during the wartimes.
Day 2: Hiking from Jinshanling to Simatai and back
While in the early morning, enjoy the breathtaking sunrise on the Great Wall followed by a light breakfast. Continue to hike more watch towers towards Simatai (closed) direction, then, hike back to Jinshanling, lunch in a local 3-star hotel.
After lunch, drive back to Beijing. You will arrive at your hotel/apartment before 3:00 pm
Note: Simatai Great Wall closed to public in June, 2010. It said that will reopen in 2011 or 2012, if it opens again, we will continue to hike to the end of Simatai, otherwise, the schedule will be like this.

It might be a bit cold in the evening and early morning, warm clothes are recommended to bring some.
In the event of rain, accommodation will be arranged in a local farmer’s house nearby the Great Wall instead of camping.
